Convict (Unfit Hero #1) by Hayley Faiman
Guilty. ExCon. Felon. Prisoner. Criminal.
Words that now represent me.
Words that keep any decent person away from me.
I never gave much thought to words before now.
Slut. Hussy. Whore. Homewrecker. Jezebel.
Words that now reflect me.
Words that will stay indefinitely.
The evidence of those words grow inside of me.
Those Words make the entire town assume they are vindicated to use them.
I am wrong.
They are right.
Rylan is hot, hot, hot… which can sometimes be too much.
But he’s so fucking adorably genuine! I know he did something he can never take back or truly make up for, but I just want him to find some forgiveness and get his happy ever after.
I was surprised at how I felt about Channing. Her “crime” was way less grievous than Rylan’s if you compare them, but I guess I felt it was worse because it was intentional. And I don’t think she would have changed the path she was on unless she’d been forced to.
But, these two together are smokin’ and so fucking sweet you can’t help but love both. There is something about them that is so broken, but so incredibly hopeful. They aren’t trying to live big. They accept and acknowledge that what they did was wrong. But they’re attempting to get through their days in the best way they can without losing even more in their lives.
I absolutely loved this book and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the guys in this series. I love the women in this series as well, but the men are the standouts.
