Allie

When I moved to River’s Edge, dating was the last thing on my mind.

I definitely didn’t expect to fall for him.

Jesse Shepherd.

Popular. Star athlete. Cocky as heII.

You know the type.

But as time passed, I realized there was more lurking beneath that gorgeous exterior.

Secretive. Angry. A little bit broken.

The more I peeled back his layers, the deeper I fell.

Until I slammed headfirst into his sea of lies.

Jesse

I blew my shot.

Pissed everything away—college, lacrosse, my future—only to end up right back where I started in River’s Edge.

I was content to revel in my misery, spending my days drowning in a bottomless pit of booze and girls.

Until I saw her.

Allison Parrish.

Beautiful. Sarcastic. Perpetual bad attitude.

The pretty little distraction from the sh1t show that was my life.

But the sins of my past were closing in on me, and I learned the hard way that nothing gold can stay.

I have been patiently waiting on Jesses’ story since he was introduced in Bad Intentions and he was so worth the wait. I loved everything about it. The drama, the emotion, the hotness. This trip back to Rivers Edge has me claiming a new favorite book from Charleigh.

I adored these two characters. The chemistry between them was fantastic. Jesse is the good time guy, always loaded with a funny one liner and Allie is the loner with  lot of emotional baggage. Allie had the ability to see through Jesses’ front and get the real version of him and vice versa. There was a lot of depth with both characters. Their pasts has shaped their view on life and love. This made for a lot of tender moments between them. Whenever they were together they got lost in each other and I loved that about them.

I can’t say enough good things about this story. It checked all the right boxes for me the way a great NA should. I’m really hoping this isn’t the last time we read about the RE crew because every book in the series just keeps getting better.
