We were supposed to be best friends
But turned out to be worst enemies…

Penn

They say revenge is a dish best served cold.
I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart was completely iced.
I took her first kiss.
She took the only thing I loved.
I was poor.
She was rich.
The good thing about circumstances? They can change. Fast.
Now, I’m her parents’ latest shiny project.
Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.
Yeah, baby girl, say it—I’m your foster brother.
There’s a price to pay for ruining the only good thing in my life, and she’s about to shell out some serious tears.
Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.

Daria

Everyone loves a good old unapologetic punk.
But being a bitch? Oh, you get slammed for every snarky comment, cynical eye roll, and foot you put in your adversaries’ way.
The thing about stiletto heels is that they make a hell of a dent when you walk all over the people who try to hurt you.
In Penn Scully’s case, I pierced his heart until he bled out, then left it in a trash can on a bright summer day.
Four years ago, he asked me to save all my firsts for him.
Now he lives across the hall, and I want nothing more than to be his last everything.
His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.
Now? Now he is making me pay.

Oh. My. God. OMG! Ok, I know everyone has deep love for the four original hotholes and their stories, but believe me when I say that the new kids of All Saints High have one upped their parents in the best possible way. I’m straight up dying over how much I loved this story. And I’m salivating for the next book in the series.

I’m not entirely convinced that Shen isn’t practicing some kind of magic, because she is a word wizard. Penn was bad boy perfection. As for Daria, she is my favorite heroine the author has ever written, that’s saying a lot because she writes some really great females.

Oh Daria... This little kitten has some serious claws but at her core she is truly good. I connected with her instantly. She was labeled and judged and figured she might as well run with it. The only thing I love more than a bad boy in stories is bad bitch and Daria is definitely a Queen B.

Penn was perfection. He too had a heart of gold under all of his sarcasm and anger, Although his was much easier to see. His crappy upbringing didn’t ruin him, it made him stronger. I don’t think I’d give him the label of anti hero, he was a straight up good guy through and through and I loved it.

The banter not just between Penn and Daria,  but with every character in this book was on a whole different level. Seriously though, the verbal jabs people took at each other were legendary and had me laughing my ass off the entire time I was reading.

This book is exactly how I like my YA. Edgy, full of angst and loaded full unexpected emotional moments. Hate to love stories have a new gold standard and this my friends is it. Well done Shen, it was fucking fantastic.
