It Happens (Bear Bottom Guardians MC #6) by Lani Lynn Vale

Zee + Annmarie and Tan + Jubilee.

Forever. No exceptions.

They were to have the picture-perfect life together. Everything was all planned out.

Jubilee was to marry Eitan and Ezekiel was to marry Annmarie. That’s how it was always supposed to be from the moment that they met. Textbook, right?

Eitan and Annmarie die in a freak accident that never should have happened, leaving the two survivors reeling.

Sixteen years later, Jubilee and Zee can’t even be in the same room with each other before things begin to deteriorate. Too many memories. Too much pain. Not enough forgiveness.

They’re like hellfire and holy water, and neither one of them is willing to admit that they’re wrong.

Then one day things change, and all of a sudden, they’re looking at each other like maybe they aren’t each other’s enemies after all.

Lani Lynn Vale’s books just keep getting better and I just loved Zee and Jubilee.

Having Jubilee, her mom and her aunt all be professionals in the mortician industry was fantastic. It gives a little shout out to all of us slightly morbid people. All I could picture was Jubilee as a cooler version of Morticia Adams, if that’s even possible, but she pulled it off. She was just as hurt by her past as Zee was, but I think she handled it better. Maybe it was her profession that gave her that practical outlook on life.

Zee was pretty funny and their arguments and constant picking at each other never came off as mean spirited or cruel. They just picked constantly. I liked that Zee looked after her even if she did annoy him and that she watched out for him too. Especially with is bitchy ex. He’s every woman’s wet dream with the way he was always feeding her, even if he did bitch about the type of food she ate. These two should have been together from the beginning. If only she hadn’t burned his favorite ballcap all those years ago. But, I can understand how that might scar a guy for life.

Jubilee’s friend Turner was fantastic, and I am counting down the days for her book. I think she might just be snarkier than Jubilee and I predict an epic battle of resting bitch face between her and Castiel.
