Boys of Brayshaw High (Brayshaw High #1) by Meagan Brandy
"Girls like you aren't exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way."
Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for "troubled teens".
I didn't listen, and now I'm on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they've deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don't follow rules.
Too bad for me, they're determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings...these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I'm the girl who got in their way.
I really didn’t know what to expect going into this one… which I actually love. Don’t read any blurbs or reviews and pick up a book with no expectations or no notions. With that said, stop reading my reviews.
If you’re still here reading, Brandy goddamn nailed it with this one.
The story of high school kids… was I getting into a 90210 scene here. Or maybe that series from the 90s… what was it, Peach Valley High? Sweet Valley High? I dunno… I read one and it was too peachy or sweet for me, I can’t really remember. But I digress. We are talking Brayshaw here. And holy shit.
I was engrossed right from the get-go. I wasn’t sure if I hated the boys. Or the girl, for that matter. I wasn’t sure if I hated the chemistry. Or the hate. Or the power struggles.
Ended up I loved it all.
Brandy ensnared me in all aspects of this book. The writing, the characters, the plot. It’s dirty, it’s gossipy, it’s hot, and it’s damn riveting. I was ready for Book 2 last month.
So far my favorite read of 2019.
