The Left Side of Perfect by Meghan Quinn

For better or for worse,'til death do us part . . .

The better captured me; she's who stole my heart.
And made me realize I couldn’t live without this woman.
The worse of her took my breath away--kicked me when I was down and twisted me into a million knots.

When I first met her, I thought she was someone I would never see again.
The second time I ran into her, it was a random coincidence.
The third?
I didn’t know it at the time, but she was the girl I was going to marry.

But life isn’t always perfect. You have to take the better and the worse--even if it means giving her up, having her slip between your fingers, and letting her walk away.

I’m getting married.
This is forever, 'til death do us part.

K3: So here we are again. I don’t know about you but Meghan had my panties in a twist. I mean SERIOUSLY.

Poor Colby and before I go on.. For those of you who haven’t read The Upside of Falling or The Downside of Love STOP RIGHT HERE. Go back and read it. This gives you a complete back story to our man Colby and a few other characters.

Ok, moving forward.

Again… WTF! I mean seriously? I was happy for Colby then I was like NOOOOOO.. You know what I mean?

Sasha:Definitely, the book started off on a bittersweet note but those feelings don’t last for long. It’s clear that Colby is every bit the good guy Meghan wrote him to be, and this only made me much more emotionally invested in the story. I really needed him to get his HEA.

K3: If there ever was a bumpy, fucked up road to happiness, I think Colby takes the cake.

Sasha:I knew I was in for an emotional roller coaster before reading, but damn. Bumpy is a perfect way to describe it. The highs made me hopeful with how I wanted things to play out, and the lows had me yelling NO at my kindle more than a few times.

K3:YES! I found myself shouting at my kindle as well. The emotions.. I guess the best way to describe it is with pancakes.. Most everyone drinks milk with pancakes, once in a while you have that person who likes OJ with pancakes. Like I said, OJ is good but it doesn’t necessarily go with all meals.. Does that make any sense? I am a milk person but Meghan and her writing had me questioning my choice.

Sasha:I know what I prefer, but again Meghan made me really question if OJ is a better choice. She’s was a master at playing with my emotions throughout the entire story.

K3:I think a good ending for this review is to leave everyone with a quote. With this story, I think it is fitting.

“People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON. . . It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end .Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON . . .Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIMErelationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.”

BOTH: We are in agreeance that this story was fun, emotional and yet frustrating. Don’t even get us started on the ending..

Dying to see where Colby’s journey takes him… Will it be Milk or OJ?
