Auctioned (8392 #1) by Cara Dee

Auctioned by Cara Dee

Gray Nolan’s biggest problem in life was the torch he carried for his closeted coach. He was just another happy-go-lucky dude, a college student and hockey player, when his ordinary existence was interrupted, and he became a human trafficking statistic.

He and seven other young men were taken aboard a luxurious yacht where they were to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Gray was beaten, shattered, and almost defeated by the time his buyer stepped out of the shadows in a swirl of his own cigarette smoke.

He was Gray’s new owner.

Darius Quinn had vowed never again to find himself in a situation like this. His days as a private military contractor were over. No more missions, no more risks, no more personal attachments. Yet, here he was, after weeks of searching, face-to-face with his broken prize.

It was time to get the knucklehead back to his family.

Quick and easy was Darius’s plan.

Then everything went sideways.

For me, Cara Dee's writing has always been one of my guilty pleasures. A hidden secret. Her books are filthy, dark and utterly amazing.

Auctioned is no different.

What first lured me in was the title, Auctioned. I mean, this could lead to nothing good, right? To the contrary. It was not just good, but epic. Auctioned is a hellish ride into the dark pit of human trafficking.

The second thing that intrigued me was the cover. Did you see the bar code? A stamp of property and ownership. Could this get more fucked? Yes, yes it can.

After Gray is kidnapped, he is thrust into a journey through hell. Or is hell what comes after? Even after reading the book, I still have no idea. What I do know is that this book grabbed me by the balls and did not let go until the very end. It was uncomfortable, a bit painful, and a whole lot of fucked up and I loved every word.

What Gray endures is terrifying and horrific. He is tormented physically and mentally. Brought to his breaking point. But the others, they have it worse. So much worse. But, there is a man, Darius. He shows Gray compassion and provides warmth in this new life has been compelled to live in.

If you are a lover of words created by a sadistic author who loves to make you cringe in only the best of ways, READ THIS BOOK! I promise you will shudder at the vivid pictures Cara paints.  I promise you will be furious for what she puts Gray and the others through. I promise you will devour every word.

I was drawn in from the title, stayed for all the words, and only stopped until I read The End. I could not put this book down. Not sure what it says about me that I absolutely loved this book, other than I have fantastic taste.

Next up, Stranded.
