A Little Bit like Desire (South Haven #2) by Brooke Blaine
A Little Bit Like Desire (South Haven Book 2)
What if you had everything in the world you wanted...except the man you never knew you needed?
Shaw Jennings, the seductive, enigmatic owner of Body Electric Tattoo works hard and plays even harder. He’s built a life he’s proud of, and though that doesn’t include a significant other, he’s got plenty of sexy men to keep his bed warm at night. None of them have ever made Shaw sit up and take notice for long, though. But that all changes when a famous rock star walks through his door.
Trent Knox had the world in the palm of his hand as the lead singer of TBD, one of the biggest rock bands in history…until the day he walked away. A getaway to South Haven Island seems like the perfect place for Trent to find himself again and reignite his passion for music. But what he never expects is to find his muse in a six-five, tatted-up badass whose sinful smile he can’t get out of his mind.
The only problem? Trent’s a notorious womanizer, and Shaw isn’t interested in being someone’s experiment—muse or otherwise. But in a town as small as this one, Shaw is finding it more and more difficult to keep the persistent rocker at arm’s length.
As the tension between them builds, maybe it’s time to finally give in and get carried away with something a little bit like...desire.
We are back on South Haven Island with the boys from A Little Bit Like Love: Lucas, Jackson, Bash, and Shaw. The similarities end here, because these books couldn’t be more different. Where A Little Bit Like Love was a story about second chance love, A Little Bit Like Desire is about first love.
While Shaw was a secondary character in A Little Bit Like Love, he stood out and made me curious. I wanted to know his story, what made him tick. In A Little Bit Like Desire we get full frontal Shaw. At first glance, he comes off as “what you see, is what you get.” Sharp dressed, straight talker, and fine as hell. However, once those layers are peeled back, he is anything but simple. Real. Shaw is as real as it gets.
A mysterious, scorching encounter has left Shaw on edge. Names and numbers weren’t exchanged. But that one night has left him unnerved until he hears, "your turn.” Two words that mean nothing unless they are put together. Two words that normally would have no effect unless they are paired with a memory that brings you back to a night that you want to relive. Two words that are able to shake Shaw Jennings to his core.
This love story starts in the most unconventional ways. It’s not love at first sight, more like love at first desire.
ALBLD is a quick, drama free read filled with delicious sexiness and a side of humor. Brooke, I raise my extra large mimosa (a buttload of champs and a splash of juice) in congratulations to your best seller. And this cover…kudos lady. Kudos.
P.S. I don’t think I will never look at a sausage the same way again.
P.S.S. Give me Bash.
