Forgetting August (Lost & Found #1) by J.L Berg
She can forgive, but can she forget?
Some days, Everly still thinks she sees him. In the food court at the mall, or in a car speeding past as the light changes. It only lasts a second, but when it happens, she slips back to a time when she was ruled-and nearly ruined-by August Kincaid. And it doesn't matter that she's moved on, that she's about to marry another man. In those moments the only thing she can do to regain control is take a deep breath and remind herself that August can't hurt her-because he's in a coma. Except that he's not anymore.
August is awake. With no memories, he sets out to solve the mystery of his lost life. He unearths a photograph of a beautiful redhead named Everly and knows instinctively that she's the key. But when he finds her, the August she describes is more monster than man.
Tortured by the thought of having hurt her, August wants only to become the man Everly deserves. As the new August emerges, Everly glimpses the person she first fell in love with. But can she trust that this August is real? When the final secret of their shared past is revealed, one of them will make a choice that changes their future forever . . .
Who doesn’t love an Alpha male? Well August is definitely and alpha male and then some. It was a bit overwhelming at times. Everly and August, their relationship started off great but then his money got in the way and she became more of a possession to him than someone he is supposed to love. Like all relationships, things can change in a blink of an eye.
August wakes up from being in a coma after two years. This accident has changed him. He is calmer.
Everly is now engaged to an amazingly sweet man named Ryan. Their relationship is wonderful until August returns…… Love triangle.
Everly never stopped loving August and now her heart is split in two. She like her heart is confused. Does she risk her healthy and loving relationship with Ryan and go back to August who has always been a bit unhealthy and tumultuous?
Personally, for me, I am a fan of the August after his coma. He was not as domineering, I get he couldn’t remember anything but I liked how it made him. August before his coma was an Ass..
For me, I wish Everly had more strength against August. I feel that she fell too quickly into her feelings for him without really thinking about her love for her fiancé.
Ryan was amazing through it all, even when he didn’t have to be and that made me just fall in love with him even more.
Overall, this book kept me engaged the entire time. I was happy and frustrated. I love when a book is able to bring out the different emotions. JL Berg really captured that with her characters. And the ending! Be prepared to hang tight!
