True (Temptation #6) by Ella Frank
True - adjective: That which is accurate or exact.
I dare you to try.
I think you’re my truth.
Four years ago, Logan Mitchell walked into Tate’s life and challenged him to see it differently. He dared Tate to try a kiss, when normally he wouldn’t have. He begged him to take a chance, when he probably shouldn’t have. But most importantly, he asked Tate to trust that he would love him, and he did. From that moment on, Tate realized exactly what his life had been missing—Logan. Happily-ever-afters come in many different forms. But for Tate Morrison, there’s only one ending he wants. The one where the guy marries the guy and true love conquers all. Now all he has to do is tell Logan.
Join Logan and Tate as they finally realize what the rest of us knew all along. That they belong together for better or worse—always.
True was the ending I never wanted to come. I thought I was ready for it. I purchased the book on release day, but found reading the words difficult. It took weeks for me to finally grow some balls and read what I knew in my heart would be the ending of my most favorite m/m series.
True picked up where Tate left off. Actually, that is not exactly correct. Tate left us with Logan’s perspective of what happened and True started from Tate’s when he finally came to realize what he had done. It did not occur to me how much I needed this scene, but I was so damn happy Ella wrote it. From that moment, I knew True was going to be everything I never thought I wanted for Logan and Tate. Let me be clear, I was good with the ending of Trust. But after reading Tease, Tate and True, it dawned on me that this was exactly how it should be.
Witnessing Logan and Tate in this epic finale, was an amazing experience. Ella had my emotions all over the place, but what I was left with was utter satisfaction. Everything is now exactly how it should be.
For me, I always felt this series was more Logan’s story. If you have read the books, then you know we get both Logan and Tate’s perspectives. I guess you could say I am biased. Logan charmed and snarked his way into my heart from the very beginning. However, I came to a realization while reading True. Logan is not the Logan I fell in love with without Tate. It is Tate’s love, patience, tenacity, and stubbornness that allows Logan to feel safe enough to be his true self. When it happens and he reveals his heart and love, it is beautiful sight to behold.
As you can see, I am a huge fan of not only Ella, but this entire series. You can say I am slightly obsessed with everything Logan and Tate. Ella has stated on numerous occasions that Logan and Tate are not just characters to her. They may live in her head, but she given them life and words that mean so much to me.
It was real. All of it. You finally got the happily ever after you never dared to hope for. Hold on tight and never let go.
