Twisted Twosome by Meghan Quinn
Racer McKay is a broody bastard.
From the moment I met him, he’s been rude, irritable, and unbearable. And worse? He's broke.
A contractor working to remodel my parents pool house for extra cash, he stomps around in those clunky construction boots with his tool belt wrapped around his narrow waist, and a chip on his shoulder.
Racer McKay is also infuriatingly . . . sexy as hell. I want to take that pencil tucked behind his ear, and draw lazy lines slowly up and down his body all the while wanting to strangle him at the same time.
We try to stay out of each other’s way . . . that is until I have no other option but to ask for his help.
But what I don’t realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he’s desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.
Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We’re hot, we’re cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don’t want him. We’re on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we’re finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.
*Twisted Twosome is a stand alone romantic comedy.
Although this is a stand-alone, I would recommend reading Co-Wrecker and My Best Friend’s Ex. These books introduce you to the characters that lead to this book.
Again, Meghan doesn’t disappoint. I fell in love with Racer in MBFE, how can you not? I was overjoyed to see Mr. Racer McKay get his own story.
This reminded me of one of my favorite all time movies, Overboard. Not the whole memory loss thing but the whole rich chick/hardworking contractor situation.
Racer honestly has the biggest heart ever. He comes off as a total cocky jerk. I adored his Little Debbie addiction and his man thongs. He works hard for his money and he is running himself ragged to stay afloat.
Georgie is awesome! At first, she comes off your typical “born with a silver spoon in hand” kinda chick but there is definitely more than meets the eyes with her. She is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is she beautiful but she is smart and determined to make her life her own. Her daddy on the other hand, it determined to put her in her place.
When Racer meets Georgie it is hate at first sight. Never have two people been so attracted to each other but at the same time act like mortal enemies. Their banter makes for some great sexual tension. They learn to work together, after all, it will benefit them both in the end but not in the ways either one of them expected.
Their friends make the already funny situations even more hilarious. I also loved seeing glimpses of Tucker and Emma, along with Adalyn and Smalls (ß---------- Meghan, SMALLS, Story… right? I am also hoping for Adalyn too.. hint hint)
Racer and Georgie and friends will have you laughing, lusting and crying. I enjoyed every single moment of this story.
So, grab some little Debbie snacks, curl up on the couch or wherever it is you read and dive in. Seriously, you need too. Her rom-coms are FAN-PHUCKING-TASTIC.
