Ruckus (Sinners of Saint #2) by L.J. Shen

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They're right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister's ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzes into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I fucking dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out just how hard I can fight. I won't go down quietly. That's why they call me Ruckus.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

This is a complete standalone and a part of the Sinners of Saint series.

ellie's $0.02:

This is one of those books that I read and just sit around like a bumbling idiot for days after and then trip over my own feet while wearing my clothes inside out and forget my pants when people ask me to review it.

Why do I like this book?

Like is stupid word.  This book is FUCKING GOOD.  Like stupid good.  Like can't get enough.  Like I just used the word like fifteen times in a sentence for such a stupid word.  Thank Ruckus I don't write books and just do a half-ass attempt on a review to tell you that it's a good book.

Sold yet?  *sigh* OKAY.  FINE.

Ruckus is this hot piece of ego that just wants to puts his dick anywhere he can.  Sounds like he should be a turn-off, right?  God, I wish he was.  Even though he puts his cock in everyone he can, he is still just... well.... likeable.  Loveable even.  I tried really hard to hate him for that.  I mean who is that egotistical that puts his penis in every warm spot he can find. I mean seriously, hide the apple pies. But in the end, he is funny as fuck and apparently just horny as fuck waiting for Baby LeBlanc.

And Baby LeBlanc - that nickname.  It sounds like it shouldn't be hot, but totally is when Ruckus says it.  There is something about the way Ruckus calls Rosie, Baby LeBlanc that is just sexy and hot.  And well, I really kinda pretty much DUG the nickname.

These characters... damn, these characters.  L.J. has this amazing sense on hearing her characters and making them the good, the bad, the ugly, the real, and the hot.  Ruckus is not a disappointment.  This is not a light-hearted read, but is so fucking engaging it's ridiculous.  And my heart was singing at the end.

Okayyy.  So anyway.  The book.  L.J. Shen wrote an EVEN better book than before and before and before.  I don't know how she keeps outdoing herself, but this one kind of knocked Vicious out of the way for me.  This girl has talent oozing out of her.  And you know why?  I have the answer.  When I text her asking her for the manuscript (btw, I do edit these, so if there are errors, it's on me, not on her)... she just says "I dunno, I have a lot to say."  And folks, there you have it.  She's a talkative little author that has a lot to say and puts that into her books.

Definitely a 5-star read for me.  Even a 6, 7, 8 or 69 stars for me.
