Finding Kyle by Sawyer Bennett

When you’ve lived your life as a criminal…

When you’ve done unspeakable things …

When your soul has become dark and stained…

The path to redemption begins where you least expect it.

Kyle Sommerville is in hiding and doesn’t want to be found by anyone. Certainly not by his quirky, free-spirited neighbor who’s managed to push her way past the walls he’s built around him. But Jane Cresson’s indomitable will and insatiable curiosity about her reclusive neighbor makes it impossible for Kyle to stay immersed in his dark world.

Little by little, she claws through his shell.

Day by day, she gets him to smile a little more.

Night by night, they both find pleasure they never knew existed.

Kyle’s terrible past is exposed, Jane begins to think she’s in over her head. Can her love for this broken man finally clear his path to redemption, or will Kyle’s darkness extinguish every bit of hope she’s put into him?

K3’s $0.02

Without giving anything away, Kyle pretty much lost himself for five years. He is struggling with the choices he made. He is hiding and doesn’t want to be found or bothered, that is until his beautiful neighbor inches her way into his life.

Jane is an artist, she is also kind of dorky in the most adorable way. I love her quick wit and her perfect timing when she quotes movies. She literally lights up the scenes. You can’t help but smile when she comes into the picture.

Kyle does all he can to resist her charm but it is useless and he slowly finds himself opening up to her, not 100% but a tiny bit at a time. Jane agrees to go with the flow. Kyle has made it clear that what they have going on has an expiration date. Jane being Jane, accepts it and does her best to enjoy their limited time together.

Neither of them expected their hearts to get involved. Unfortunately, Kyle’s past catches up to him and his secrets are exposed and in turn has Jane moving away. Kyle tries to move on but realizes he can’t move on without her and he does his best to get her back and explain everything to her, even if it means losing her forever.

OMG, Kyle’s past was a tough one. It is one where he did what he had to do, even if it was selling his soul to the devil which left him feeling dirty and unworthy of everything.

Jane was so patient and understanding and I loved that she was able to see the good in the bad things he had to do. She really was his light in the darkness he was suffering from.

This has to be one of my favorite of Sawyer’s book. The seriousness of the story, the regret, the shame and the pain.

Kyle’s story stole my heartand I enjoyed every second of it.
