Natalie Dixon has had a lifetime of heartache since Owen was deployed. Fourteen years and one bad marriage later, she finds herself mixed up with the Loughman’s again. With her life on the line against an enemy she can’t fight alone, it’s Owen’s strong shoulders, smoldering eyes, and sensuous smile that she turns to. I am a big fan of military romances with that suspenseful kick to it.  This is my first time reading Donna Grant.

I really enjoyed the spy aspect of the story and how the Loughman’s, who were torn apart after their mother’s murder are forced to come together after another murder and their father’s disappearance.

Natalie and Owen were high school sweethearts. She thought they would be together forever. Until he just up and left her. Natalie does her best to live her life. Even after a bad marriage, everything in her life is great, except her love life. No matter how many years have gone by, her heart still aches for Owen.

Owen Loghman has no choice but to return home. He lives and breathes the Navy Seals, his love for the danger and action keep him going. Returning home is the last thing he wants to do and when he comes face to face with the love of his life, things change and he finds that he wants her back and wants a future he robbed them of.

Well, things are that easy. Natalie has a price on her head and keeping her safe if Owen’s first priority. Again, he and his brother’s find themselves in the middle of a potential war that all started out with their father. Having to set aside their differences, they come together to protect each other and get their father back.

I loved the twists and turns this story had as well as the romantic aspect of the story. It has action, angst, suspense and heartache.

This story does end in a cliff hanger and I look forward to following their journey not only to save their father but to also save the world.
